Have you heard about Laura Storm? Somehow, her name reminds me of a superhero. In real life, she might be just that.
Laura grew up in a family that taught her to care for the environment and to contribute to society. At age 10, she bought a piece of the Amazon rainforest, where she also worked as a volunteer after finishing High School.
After writing her Master’s about how leaders could focus on a low-carbon economy, she started writing a book about how we can communicate about creating a sustainable future. It was called “The Guide to Sustainia”, and Sustainia also became the name of the respectable organization she headed from 2013.
In recent years, Laura has given many talks on topics she is passionate about, where she addresses how we best can “redesign and co-create a world where purpose, people, planet & profit collectively thrive”. That is also the cornerstone of Regeneators, a selected group of professionals with the same aim. Moreover, she is the creator behind the highly recommended podcast “Cracks of light“.
She’s refreshingly clear, too. When listing what she wants to see a change in, in the next ten years, one of her comments is:
Big egos getting in the way of progressive and positive change. Get over yourself. We don’t have time for bullshit like that.
She has it in her name: Laura Storm contributes to a much needed storm to stir up old ways of doing things: both business wise and looking after each other and the environment. We certainly need more Storms.
